These socks are fantastic, granted they are natural fiber so they will shrink slightly with washing but they stretch right back out without losing elasticity. They are very warm even though they are thin which make them nice for certain shoes. Well worth the money.
I was very excited to try this yarn out! I got the two skeins as ordered. It arrived quickly and undamaged. Also, the skeins upon arrive were great. However, I noticed as I untwisted my skeins for I can wash them with the recommended steps on the label, I noticed the blonde yarn was noticeably different. It looks like it as too tightly wounded when spun. So, it has more kinks/twists and no matter how many times I shake or untwist this manually they come right back. In addition, it also affected how it washed. The strands did not expand and/or relax like the other DK skein. Thus impacting the overall feel and drape of the yarn. The brown one is super soft and drapes beautifully! I can’t wait to start working with it. I just wish my blonde one was the same quality because it just does not have the same softness, drape, and has a smaller strand diameter.
I've purchased many skeins of UlaLia yarn and have yet to be disappointed by any of them. They are all amazing!

I recently ordered both yak wool and the wool/cashmere socks. I live in a very cold and snowy climate, and this yarn is the best I’ve tried. I am currently wearing a sweater I made out of ULA LIA camel yarn and it’s one of my favorite 2 sweaters. The other is a wool/yak blend sweater also from ULA LIA. I have another on the needles. And some mittens. I guess if you have to have an addiction, you could do worse than ULA LIA.

I've both at least a hundred different types of socks in my life and these are hands down the comfiest. And they're super warm. However, they don't last very long as holes in the heels develop after maybe 10 or 15 times wearing them. I keep on ordering new ones because they are so comfy. Maybe I will just wear them inside and not try to walk around as much with them. And maybe wear a larger size.
Thank you, I'd say that's a fair review for our socks! I agree there's a bit of a tradeoff as far as warmth+comfort -vs- durability goes. Going up a size could help if you have the extra size to go (I'm a 47 personally but the biggest we make is 45, so not possible for me), but having a bit more material and it not being stretched as much could give you some more life. I still get good wear from them in boots or shoes (and even use them for running on super cold days), but not great indoors or especially directly on carpet. Socks are a bit outside of what we usually focus on, but they turned into a bit of a cult product for us. People either love or hate them, but those that love them can't go without them!

I've bought both undyed baby camel yarn as well as moss green baby camel yarn, and my initial impression was that the undyed felt softer initially. After having washed and blocked them both, they're both extremely soft. A couple notes: the moss green seemed to have small bits of debris (seemed like fragments of straw, if I'm guessing), and regarding the directions to soak in hot soapy water, periodically gently swishing or squeezing, at 10-minute intervals until the water runs clear...I gave up on clear water after the eighth or ninth repetition. Not sure why this happened, but neither of these issues diminished my feelings about this yarn, I just may not try that many repetitions with the next project as it was a bit taxing on my body. Sad to see that the moss green color doesn't seem to be on offer next year, as it's my favorite. Thank you to Ula + Lia for making these exotic fibers available at such a reasonable cost. I've ordered twice now and I'm sure I'll be ordering more in the future.
Sorry to hear you had to wash it a bit more than expected! As for the debris, I think you're probably referencing the small amount of guardhair that's left in camel wool. It's not thicker to where it affects the softness, but it doesn't take the dye exactly the same. It's not noticeable in the undyed colors because it's all the same color, but you can see it in the dyed pieces. You mentioned straw, so I'm assuming it's the natural camel color. Camel (and yak wool) do tend to have a lot of organic matter in the wool when harvesting, but it's all removed in the washing and dehairing process. The shawl looks lovely, thank you for sharing!

I think the color is more marigold meets pumpkin. It’s a gorgeous rich tone and I’ve already bought more. It’s soft and silky feeling. I can’t wait to make a sweater out of it.

I bought a bit of pretty much each type of yarn and just like everyone says, it gets even softer after a handwashing. I made a hat out each and I can’t decide what is softest. I do like the lighter color choices in the cashmere. I can’t believe the prices, I can finally afford to make something out of cashmere

Love this yarn! The color is not too bright, it's so so soft and I can't wait to knit with it! I bought one during the 2024 Kickstarter and had to get another to be sure I had enough for the perfect project.It was shipped really fast. I actually got it sooner than I expected. I will be buying more!

Followed the instructions for pre washing; wow the yarn is even more gorgeous. Saturated color, plumped up just a little after washing, no splitting and great to work with. Feels soft next to my skin.
